POLICIES & FORMS

BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT

Thank you for your interest in scheduling a session! You can book your appointment by contacting me here

A valid credit card or prepayment is required to reserve your appointment time.

* Sessions are by appointment only.

* Same-day appointments are only available to established clients and must be booked over the phone.

PAYMENT

Payment is due in full at the time of service and can be done via cash, check, HSA Cards, Venmo or credit card (for a $5 processing fee). Megan Brians of Body and Being Healing is not contracted with insurance companies.

SESSION TIMES

Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to settle in and get your full session time. If you arrive right at the appointment start time, or late, you will receive whatever time remains of the appointment and agree to pay for the full length of the session.

INTAKE FORMS

Intake forms must be completed before your appointment. Otherwise, we will have to take time out of your session to complete them. Download them here.

ACCOMPANYING GUESTS FOR INTERNAL PELVIC THERAPY SESSIONS

You are more than welcome to bring a friend or loved one to sit in during your appointment. Given the nature of the therapy I offer as well as to maintain a therapeutic environment:

* Please do not bring children with you to your appointment.

* Partners and loved ones will need to leave the room during the intake interview. They may return thereafter and remain in the room (if you wish) for the rest of the session.

LATE ARRIVALS

Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment to allow time for you to settle in and begin your session. I understand that issues can arise that may cause you to be late for your appointment. Appointment times are reserved for each client, so oftentimes I cannot exceed that reserved time without making the next client late. For this reason, arriving after your appointment time may result in a loss of time from your session so that your session ends at the scheduled time. Full-service fees will be charged even when sessions are shortened due to late arrival.

CANCELLATIONS, MISSED APPOINTMENTS & RESCHEDULING

Please provide me with a 24-hour notice of any schedule changes or cancellations requests. Appointments must be canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours before the start time. I send reminders by email and text 24-48 hours before your appointment time. Although I do this as a courtesy, it is ultimately up to you to remember your appointment.

Please understand that when you cancel or miss your appointment without providing 24-hour notice, I am often unable to fill that appointment time. This is an inconvenience to your therapist and also means my other clients miss the chance to receive services they need. For this reason, it is the policy of Body & Being Healing that you will be charged 50% of the service fee for the first missed session and 100% of the service fee for subsequent missed sessions. Multiple missed appointments may result in termination of care.

Inclement weather may also result in necessary late cancellations. I will do my best to give advanced notice if I am closing or need to cancel due to bad weather and ask that you do the same. Please do not risk your safety trying to make your appointment. Late cancellation due to emergency, illness (if you notify me by 9:30 am), or inclement weather will generally not result in any charges, but this is determined on a case-by-case basis.

ILLNESS

I understand that emergencies can arise and illnesses do occur at inopportune times. If you have a cold, fever, a known infection, or have experienced vomiting or diarrhea or other contagious symptoms within 24 hours prior to your appointment time, please cancel your session. Receiving any kind of bodywork when you’re sick will only make it harder for your immune system to fight the illness, and you will be sicker for longer.

Reschedule your appointment right away if:

* You have a cold, the flu, a fever, a throat tickle, etc.—even if you’re on the tail end of it.

* Your allergies are flaring up, you’re sneezing or coughing, or you have a runny nose.

* You’re on antibiotics but you haven’t yet finished the entire course.

Clients should also not receive bodywork and should notify me immediately if they are experiencing any of the following health conditions:

* Any active inflammatory disease affecting blood vessels.

* Diabetes with active complications.

* Kidney and/or bladder disease or infection.

* Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or extreme gastrointestinal distress.

* Severe, unexplained pain in the abdomen or legs.

* Throbbing headache or migraine.

* Skin rashes, warts, mysterious bug bites, or any unidentified skin condition.

If clients arrive with contagious symptoms, their session will be canceled or rescheduled and it will be considered a no-show, and they agree to pay the full session fee. In the event that you become sick the day of your appointment and call me by 9:30 am that morning, I will not charge you for the session. Phone: 541-633-5977

ETIQUETTE & COMMUNICATION
NO FRAGRANCES

Please arrive for your appointment fragrance-free. This includes perfume, lotion, essential oils, hair products, smoke odors, etc. Please do not smoke immediately before your appointment.

COMMUNICATING WITH THE THERAPIST

To receive the best session possible, you must communicate your needs, preferences, requests, or feedback to me at any time before, during, or after your session. Tell me right away if you feel unwell, uncomfortable, or distracted at any time during the session so that adjustments can be made. As your therapist, I want your honest feedback, whether positive or negative.

ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION

I cannot ensure the confidentiality of any form of communication through electronic media, including text messages. If you prefer to communicate via email or text messaging for issues regarding scheduling or cancellations, I will do so. I will respond within 24 hours.

SOCIAL MEDIA AND TELECOMMUNICATION

Due to the importance of your confidentiality and the importance of minimizing dual relationships, I do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former patients on any social networking site (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.). I believe that adding patients as friends or contacts on these sites can compromise your confidentiality and our respective privacy. It may also blur the boundaries of our therapeutic relationship. If you have questions about this, please bring them up when we meet and we can talk more about it.

INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR AND RIGHT OF REFUSAL POLICY

Massage therapy and bodywork is for therapeutic and relaxation purposes only. There is absolutely no sexual component to massage whatsoever. Any insinuation, joke, gesture, conversation, or request otherwise will result in immediate termination of your session and a refusal of any and all services in the future. You will be charged the full-service fee regardless of the length of your session. Depending on the behavior exhibited, Body & Being Healing may also file a report with the local authorities.

If you appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, have an infectious illness, do not maintain standard hygiene, push for treatment outside the scope of practice of your therapist, or behave inappropriately, Body & Being Healing has the right to cancel, reschedule or refuse service or terminate a session. This is for your own safety as well as your therapist’s and her other clients.

TELEPHONE ACCESSIBILITY

If you need to contact me between sessions, please leave a message on my voicemail. I am often not immediately available; however, I will attempt to return your call within 24 hours. If an emergency situation arises, please call 911 or any local emergency room.

MINORS

If you are a minor, your parents may be legally entitled to some information about your treatment. I will discuss with you and your parents what information is appropriate for them to receive and which issues are more appropriately kept confidential.

TERMINATION

I may terminate treatment after appropriate discussion with you and a termination process if I determine that the treatment is not being effective or if you are in default on payment. I will not terminate the therapeutic relationship without first discussing and exploring the reasons and purpose of terminating. If treatment is terminated for any reason or you request another Chiropractor, I will provide you with a list of qualified Chiropractors to treat you. You may also choose someone on your own or from another referral source.

Should you fail to schedule an appointment for four consecutive weeks, unless other arrangements have been made in advance, for legal and ethical reasons, I must consider the professional relationship discontinued.
