Rooting through our Feet

A lot of us feel tension and pain in our necks, shoulders, and backs. It seems obvious to specifically target those areas to help relieve the discomfort and pain.

However, did you know that getting your legs more connected and open to the ground and Earth’s energies can help ease the tension in your upper body?

🦶🏼Our bodies our shaped by a complex web of layered fascia (i.e. connective tissue). As you soften and widen the fascia in the soles of your feet, you can effectively help relax your legs, hips, pelvis, and further up along your body.

There’s even a layer of fascia knows as the Superficial Back (or Dorsal) Line that goes up from your heels, along your back, and all the way around to your forehead and eyebrows!

Rooting from Pelvis to Earth

🌎 When our fascia is more open and our feet more awake to sensation, we have more possibility of feeling the ground beneath us. This is no small matter.

Most of us are going through our daily lives operating from our minds while our nervous systems are tightening our tissues in response to our thoughts, actions, and interactions. It can be lot carry inside our bodies!  

Feeling the ground beneath us can help us feel supported and less carried away by the hurdy-gurdy-whirly spin of life (you may want to turn down the volume for this video). Being grounded and feeling supported can also be critical when facing challenging situations and interactions.

Streaming Earth’s Energies through our legs

✨ If we have unrestricted fascia throughout our feet and legs, Earth’s energies can more easily run up through our body, helping us become more grounded and connected.

Having more energy flow in the lower body also helps complete a circuit of energy currents running throughout the entire length of our body. Then trapped energies in the upper body can join in a greater circulation of energy flow, relieving pressure in areas such as the shoulder and neck which are causing tension and pain.
